Hello Parents,
Thank you for coming to parent/teacher conference. I was very impressed with the turn-out. Our teachers were pleased as well. Meeting and speaking with you makes their job a lot easier. Thank you!
On November 11th, we will be having a short Veteran’s Day presentation, right after the devotional. We here at Mountain Heritage Academy are grateful for our veterans and all that they have done for us.
Our next service project will be on Saturday the 13th. Details are coming soon.
On November 16th we are going to have a general knowledge quiz for our students. It should be a fun challenge for them.
On November 9th our pre-4th graders are going on a field trip to see a reptile show and the Bean Earth Science Museum. They’ll be gone from 9 am to 1:30 pm.
Attention all parents of high school age students. Mountain Heritage Academy will be offering A.P. testing at the end of this school year. Any student who feels they are prepared and able to take an A.P. exam may do so. There is a fee of about $80.00 to take each test. This fee is not charged by us, but by the company supplying the test. Students who do well on the test can earn college credit. If you and your students are interested in A.P. exams, please speak with the principal or your teachers.
On November 18, 19 and 20 our school will be hosting the South Pointe Ballet Company. They will be presenting Sleeping Beauty in our multi-purpose room. The performances on the 18th and 19th will be at 7:00 pm. On Saturday the 20th, two performances will be held. The first will be at 2:00 pm, the second will be at 7:00 pm. They are charging $5.00 at the door, but only $2.00 if you pre-pay. If you want to buy tickets ahead of time for $2.00, call the school.
Gean Christianson, the martial arts instructor who teaches at our school, would like to offer a free rape prevention course here at MHA. Any mothers with daughters over 12 years of age may attend. We have not yet set the starting date, but it will be held on Tuesdays at 6:00 and will run for 3 to 4 weeks. Gean is a great instructor, and you can’t beat the price. Please call Kay Higginson here at the school if you are interested.
